Your Role

Our team is expanding, and we are looking for additional skilled employees for our Mechanical Installation Design section. We are responsible for the mechanical integration of systems in our flying products Gripen, T-7, and other vehicles. You will be offered a job with varied tasks where you can contribute your knowledge and expertise. You will be part of a design team within Systems Installation Design, which currently consists of four sections with a total of about 60 employees covering all system installations in mechanics, electricity, and electrical schematics. Since the systems are present throughout the aircraft, we have a very close collaboration with other areas, creating broad product knowledge and networks within the organization. We also collaborate with other business areas within the group. You will join a team that appreciates each other's differences and strives to create an open culture characterized by respect and acceptance.

As a designer, your main tasks will include:

• Design of mechanical parts in CATIA V5, from concept to finished product.
• Close collaboration within Systems Installation Design and with adjacent areas such as Hull Design, Structural Analysis, Industrialization, and Production.
• Studies for the introduction of new functionality in our existing products and new concepts.
• Support to production and our customers with operational aircraft.
• Improvement work, a part of our daily efforts to become more efficient.

To succeed in this role, you have:

• A relevant educational background as a Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineer, or work experience in design or another relevant technical field.
• Experience in CAD, preferably in CATIA V5.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience in mechanical design, hull design, or related areas.
• Interest in eventually stepping into a technical leadership role.
• Background or interest in aviation.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.

Our shared responsibility in Systems Installation Design is to develop and maintain all existing and future flight systems by providing world-class expertise in technology and engineering. At Aeronautics, hulls and system articles for all subsystems in the aircraft are developed and constructed in the Design Airframe & General Systems department. This also includes the areas of Structural Design, Structural Analysis, General Systems, System Engineering Management, and Operational Planning.
