At ABB, we are dedicated to addressing global challenges. Our values: care, courage, curiosity, and collaboration - combined with a strong focus on diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities - are important drivers in our goal to empower everyone to create sustainable solutions. This is our story. Make it your story.

Your role and responsibilities

We need more people who share our passion for technology, who love solving our customers' technical problems, and who continuously develop alongside colleagues and customers! Therefore, we are now looking for you as an Automation Engineer or Process Engineer who is passionate about automation, where you will work with project managers and other engineering colleagues on automation projects for our customers in the Swedish process industry, primarily the pharmaceutical industry.

The projects are of high technical complexity where ABB's market-leading DCS platform System 800xA is used to control processes with customized solutions. We apply concepts based on the system's batch functionality, from the design phase to commissioning and follow-up on site with our customers.

You will work with the latest technology, and with both breadth and depth in the tasks, you will have a dynamic environment where each project opens up new learnings, contacts, and innovations. Are you ready to join an engaged, competent team of women and men of mixed ages to contribute to a sustainable society? Then you might be the right person for us!

  • You will participate in delivery projects alongside the project team and be involved in all phases of the project from functional design to commissioning.
  • Your tasks include, for example, developing functional specifications, programming, and verification/validation in the form of testing with our customers in Life Science.
  • You will closely collaborate with engineers and project managers, as well as with our customers, including participation in project and technical meetings as well as site visits.
  • You represent ABB and are an important key player with our customers.

Qualifications for the role

  • We are looking for someone with a university engineering degree, preferably in chemical engineering and/or work experience in process automation and from the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or process industries.
  • As a person, you are curious, goal-oriented, and communicative, putting the customer in focus and building relationships.
  • Experience with System 800xA and batch functionality or DCS platforms from other manufacturers is a plus.
  • You speak and write Swedish and English fluently.
  • You should have a B driver's license.

More about us

You will become part of us at ABB Energy Industries, which is part of ABB's business area Process Automation and serves customers in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries as well as the heat, water, and nuclear power industries in Sweden and the Nordic countries.
