The Traffic Office is responsible for maintaining and developing Stockholm's public spaces, ensuring they are safe, attractive, accessible, and sustainable. To accomplish our mission, we are about 450 colleagues, mainly located in the newly renovated premises of the Technical Board House in Kungsholmen. We are now looking for a permit officer to handle both land leases, traffic plans, and excavation permits.

The department's new system, which is under procurement, will support this working method, and you will be the first to try the new role in the department.

In this role, you have an important mission to help minimize disruptions in accessibility for the benefit of Stockholm's residents. The position suits you if you are curious and engaged and enjoy a varied everyday life and taking on new challenges.

We offer

You will belong to the Söder unit, which is responsible for construction and infrastructure-related permits, such as traffic plans, excavation, and land leases, but also has the responsibility for the strategic coordination of traffic-disrupting work in the city, urban air mobility, and charging infrastructure on street land. We have a total of 14 employees.

Your role

As a permit officer in this role, you will handle both land leases (construction and sales), traffic plans, and excavation permits. The case load for the various case types varies throughout the year, and you will assist where the case load is highest, thus becoming an important cog in the permit department.

Since the unit represents the entire city, you will have many contacts with other units, departments, and administrations within the city. You will also have contact with permit holders, applicants, and citizens.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• a university degree in a relevant technical field or urban planning, or other relevant education and work experience that we assess as equivalent
• current work experience in a relevant area for the position, such as an officer at a municipal or state authority
• good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have:

• current experience with land leases, traffic plans, or excavation.

Personal abilities and skills

To succeed in the role, you need to be good at collaborating and be positive about taking on new challenges. You have a good ability to plan and prioritize your work effectively. In the role, it is also important that you are flexible so that you can easily shift focus between the different case types. Last but not least, good judgment is required by being able to weigh complex information and make correct assessments and priorities based on that.
