We are looking for a scheduler for an authority in Stockholm

This is a consulting assignment.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The assignment and work area

The authority's mission is to prepare and implement decisions regarding the direction and scope for a long-term sustainable public transport system. They are also responsible for the management and monitoring of traffic operations, as well as maintaining the functionality, safety, and value of the infrastructure. Every day, more than 700,000 people use public transport, including the subway, buses, commuter trains, and local trains.

The section upgrades and develops the existing subway system. Examples of ongoing projects include the replacement of the green line's traffic control system, upgrading of rail vehicles, reception of new rail vehicles, purchasing new work vehicles, renovation of depots, replacement of backup power and rectifier stations, as well as control and traffic management systems.

All to contribute to an attractive, sustainable, and reliable public transport system. The section is led by a section manager. To drive our projects, we have over 30 employees and about 85 consultants in the projects. The entire Investment Projects department has about 170 competent colleagues who see opportunities in change and development.

The assignment consists of being the section's scheduler, which involves projects in all of the section's groups: Green line, Blue & Red line, Systems, Facilities.

The scheduler is part of the Planning and Support team, which bears the overall responsibility for the section's scheduling.

The scheduler supports and assists project managers in their daily work with project planning. The work also includes coordination with other projects that may affect or be affected by the projects the scheduler is working on. The scheduler establishes the main schedule for projects in collaboration with the project organization to create a shared understanding of the schedule and measure deviations over time. The schedule is one of the most important control tools within the project.

In the role of scheduler, you will be responsible for, analyze, and control the scheduling work/production scheduling work in the projects in accordance with the authority's guidelines and suggest adjustments to meet set deadlines.

Overall, the role involves establishing project schedules with associated production scheduling and time management within projects in collaboration with project managers and conducting analyses of the plans.

The scheduler has knowledge of production and scheduling at a high level and can also plan details and discuss these with stakeholders. The scheduler is responsible for establishing the project's scheduling and keeping the schedule up to date so that the project can report its progress at any given time.

The scheduler needs to be analytical, systematic, structured, and have high integrity. In addition, one should enjoy collaborating, be able to build good relationships, and be a good communicator: listen, speak, observe, and be receptive to others' communication. A good communicator communicates simply and clearly, focusing on the recipient's conditions and needs.

The role also includes collaborating with various parts of the project organization, other units within the authority, and suppliers/contractors.

Have the ability to plan and coordinate your work. You are self-driven and take great personal responsibility. Furthermore, you are good at creating and maintaining good relationships, both internally and externally. You see connections and contribute your knowledge to ensure the project achieves the best results.

Requirements (IMPORTANT, mandatory)

University degree or vocational training in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Road and Water, Land Surveying, Vehicle Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering. The consultant must have at least 4 years of experience in scheduling/production planning in complex projects, e.g., construction projects, infrastructure projects, system projects. At least 4 years of experience in scheduling, using system support such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent, within construction projects, infrastructure projects. At least 4 years of experience in developing schedules where multiple suppliers' schedules must be coordinated to deliver the project. At least 4 years of experience in planning all phases of the project life cycle (analysis, planning, implementation, closure).

Desirable
