Strategic Land Manager for the Community Planning Unit
We are looking for a strategic land manager for our newly formed land group within the community planning unit.
The role involves both personnel responsibility and strategic work with land issues. The land group consists of four employees, three land engineers, and one land manager. You report to the head of community planning and are part of the management team of the community planning unit.
As a strategic land manager, you have personnel, budget, and operational responsibility for the land group. You lead the group's work and ensure that the quality, efficiency, and results of the operations are maintained and developed through feedback and improved routines. Other tasks include:
- actively participating in unit management
- following the political process and, together with the head of community planning, anchoring the work with the political leadership
- leading the group's collaboration with other groups and units
- monitoring the real estate legal area
- ensuring competence supply in the short and long term by working for an attractive and developing workplace
In your work, you are responsible for the municipality's strategic land and land management work. This means that you and your group develop the municipality's work with the land reserve, operational land, and the legal aspects of public and common spaces. Other examples of tasks include:
- enabling the municipality's future needs for land for municipal activities
- ensuring that a long-term plan exists for the municipality's land
- supporting the department in land access and valuation issues and promoting good business and real estate development for both municipal and private land
- representing the municipality in negotiations with property owners and authorities, both in land acquisitions and sales, and in the establishment of real estate legal agreements
- participating in joint strategic planning for municipal local supply in both the short and long term
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic education in community building and/or law, or another academic degree or experience deemed equivalent. You need several years of work experience in similar roles, have worked with real estate law and real estate legal agreements, have experience with the acquisition and sale of both developed and undeveloped properties, as well as negotiation experience. Additionally, you need good knowledge of relevant legislation and proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is an advantage if you also have experience as a manager, work in municipal operations or politically governed organizations, experience in business development in private enterprises, exploitation in municipal operations, work at an overview or strategic level, or with property valuation.
Leadership in Sollentuna is about achieving results and getting others involved in the work, and we place great importance on your personal qualities. You will collaborate with many different groups, which requires good collaborative skills, sound judgment, and a good developing leadership. It will also be important that you think strategically and are clear in your communication.
We Offer
The Community Building Department manages and develops attractive living environments in Sollentuna, a dynamic place in the region where classic villa areas, district centers, a growing business sector, and residential areas meet nature reserves and lakes.
The Community Building Department consists of over a hundred employees working with community planning, environmental and climate work, building permits and supervision, measurement and mapping assignments, development of public spaces, and operation and management of streets, parks, and natural areas.
The land group will work together based on the municipal council's overarching mission of no vulnerable areas, more job opportunities, and reduced climate impact by 2030. The department's common development mission – a cohesive, efficient, and digital community building process is also part of the work.
In the work of developing the land management of the municipality's currently 1,200 properties, the development of the municipality's land reserve, localization work for municipal local supply, referral work, leases, and sales of land are included. Management of land leases, leases, usage rights, servitudes, and land management related to the municipality's public and common spaces is also part of the work.

As the position is classified in a security class, Swedish citizenship is required. For employment, a satisfactory result in the security review with a background check is required, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
