Assistant in Machine Learning and Battery Simulations

Job Responsibilities

The main task is to investigate how machine learning methods can be combined with battery simulations to speed up or improve predictions, or to make statistical inferences about unobserved variables based on measurement data. The preliminary focus will be on so-called Lattice Boltzmann methods to simulate an extremely sensitive mass sensor (QCM). The results will be summarized in a written report. The tasks mainly involve participation in research, but some administration may also be required.

Qualifications

To be employed as an assistant, it is required that you are admitted to undergraduate or graduate education. The applicant must demonstrate good academic results, particularly in the area they will assist in, as well as very good knowledge of English in both spoken and written form.

Good knowledge of machine learning and programming skills, for example in Python or C++, are required. Experience with simulations and other advanced computational methods is advantageous.

Desirable/Advantageous

Courses or work experience in machine learning, programming, and computational science are advantageous.

About the Employment

The employment is temporary, according to HF 5 chap § 12, until 2025-08-29 or by agreement. The extent is 50%. Start date 2025-06-02 or by agreement. Place of employment: Uppsala.
