Become our new Secretary General in Engineering Sciences
Lead the Swedish Research Council's research funding and strategic work in this important area for Sweden. With your knowledge and experience, you will develop this vital research field and promote the utilization of research and international collaboration.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As the Secretary General, you will be scientifically responsible for the field of engineering sciences and the main speaker for the future council for engineering sciences. Together with department heads and other secretaries, you will be part of the Swedish Research Council's management council, contributing knowledge and providing advice to the agency's management. Your work will also include developing the overall activities of the Swedish Research Council and participating in external associations, both in Sweden and internationally.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with high scientific competence in engineering sciences and who is an active researcher with experience as a research leader. You should also have an interest in and experience working with strategic research issues.
Previous experience in leadership roles at an agency within the research field is an advantage, as is experience from international work with research funding and strategic research issues.
As Secretary General, you need to have good analytical skills and the ability to think and act strategically with a holistic view of the issues being addressed. You must have strong communication skills and be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written form, in both Swedish and English. The job also requires good collaboration skills. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Location
Our office is activity-based and located at Hantverkargatan 11 in central Stockholm. If the tasks allow, there is an opportunity to work remotely part-time.
Employment Form and Start Date
The position is up to 75% of full-time for a period of three years. The total employment period is a maximum of six years. The position as Secretary General should be combined with a position as a researcher at a Swedish university. The start date for the position is negotiable.
