Job Description

The Land and Environment Court of Appeal is seeking a specialist rapporteur with a focus on the Planning and Building Act (PBL). The department handles all appealed decisions from the country's five Land and Environment Courts. It also reviews appealed decisions from the lease boards that fall under the jurisdiction of the Svea Court of Appeal.

As a specialist rapporteur, you will follow the legal developments in the subject area, develop and manage various types of support materials, and conduct case law reviews and internal training focused on the subject area. 

The work will also involve providing specific support to other employees within the designated subject area. You will also prepare and present cases and matters, conduct legal investigations, draft proposals for decisions, and participate in negotiations held in all types of cases that occur at the Land and Environment Court of Appeal. Travel may be required as part of the job.

The current position is a temporary appointment lasting until 2025-10-27. The temporary position may be extended.

Qualifications

The Land and Environment Court of Appeal is looking for a lawyer with deep knowledge of environmental and land law with a focus on the Planning and Building Act. 

Applicants should have a background as a rapporteur or clerk, but other equivalent experience from qualified legal work in general and/or administrative courts may also be considered, along with several years of professional experience in the relevant legal area. 

The work requires that you are engaged in the relevant subject area and that you are analytical and meticulous. You should be able to work independently while also being able to collaborate with others. Furthermore, you should have the ability to convey knowledge to others and contribute to the development of work materials and investigations for the legal area. You should have a structured work approach, a willingness and ability to perform various types of tasks, and the ability to adapt smoothly to new tasks. Personal suitability is of great importance.
