Controller at the Sámi School Board

The Sámi School Board is a government authority and has its office with the school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators in Jåhkåmåhkke.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, providing education from preschool class to grade 6. The starting point for the education is the Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for the Sámi school. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipality. The Sámi School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a controller at the Sámi School Board, you are expected to independently and together with your colleagues plan, implement, develop, and follow up on operations within the financial processes. Your tasks primarily consist of financial follow-up, budget work, ongoing bookkeeping, year-end closing, and payroll management. You work both independently and as part of a team, assisting the management group with financial matters. You will also participate in improvement and development work at the Sámi School Board. Other tasks may occur by agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a higher education in economics. The Sámi School Board is looking for someone who:

• is flexible yet organized,
• has documented good collaboration skills,
• can express themselves well in speech and writing,
• can handle multiple tasks without losing overview,
• has good knowledge of Sámi culture and community life; knowledge of the Sámi language is an advantage.

You have several years of experience from qualified economic work, preferably acquired in a government authority. Good computer skills are required; experience with Agresso and Visma Procedo is an advantage.
