About 21,000 people aged 65 and older live in Södermalm.

Of these, about 3,500 people receive some form of assessed assistance, primarily according to the Social Services Act. The mission of the procurement unit is to grant the right support and services in such a way that the elderly person's life is characterized by high quality, security, and self-determination.

The Procurement Unit in the Department of Elderly Care

We are now recruiting social workers for the various teams in the unit who can support the operations during the spring and summer. We are looking for you who are passionate about the elderly target group and want to help drive, further develop, and ensure the quality of our work.

Currently, there are 65 employees in the procurement unit, of which 44 are social workers. The unit is led by an area manager and three unit managers, two team leaders, and two controllers. The social workers are divided into four teams that work according to geographically divided areas. Additionally, there is a special team of social workers who handle cases where the needs are more complex. The unit also has social workers responsible for individuals living in care homes and who also have a coordinating role for short-term care and day activities. Furthermore, there is a team that handles transport services and national transport service cases. The unit has several support functions that are responsible for fee management, invoicing, and booking of transports.

Your Role

As a temporary social worker with us, you will be an important function to ensure that Södermalm's elderly residents receive the right support. Your task is to investigate, decide, and follow up on the need for services according to the Social Services Act (SoL). You will conduct home visits, be responsible for discharges from hospitals, and have regular contact with the elderly, their relatives, and other stakeholders. Documentation is a central part of the work. You will write investigations, decisions, and orders and document in the City of Stockholm's operational system, Paraplyet. You express yourself well in speech and writing and follow made decisions. The work also includes collaboration with other stakeholders such as providers, primary care, hospitals, and other units within social services.

Your Competence and Experience

We are looking for someone with drive who is passionate about our target group. You meet people in a respectful and empathetic manner and have a good ability to convey hope in a complex life situation. You enjoy collaborating and do so by having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach. In collaboration with others, you invite dialogue, listen actively, and adapt communication based on the current situation. You plan and organize your work effectively and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. As a person, you are secure, stable, and have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective on situations that arise in daily work as a public authority.

• You are studying to become a social worker and have progressed in your education. You may also have another academic education that we assess as equivalent.
• You have a very good command of Swedish in both speech and writing.

It is advantageous if you have experience in elderly care.
