Welcome to us

The Support and Service Unit in Skärholmen's district administration is responsible for 13 group and service homes and two daily activities.

In our operations, people with various disabilities live, such as intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatric conditions, and acquired brain injuries. We work with the user's needs at the center and offer individually tailored support both at home and in daily activities. We place great importance on quality and safety. The operations are located in Skärholmen with good communication routes. With us, you will have an exciting job where you will have the chance to work at several of our units. The working hours at the units are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and on-call times.

Your role

As a support assistant, you will meet the individual needs of the users and support them in all situations of daily life. The goal is to support the users and promote their independence, whether at home or in the user's daily activities. The work is performed with respect for the users' right to self-determination and integrity. As a support assistant, you will collaborate with guardians, relatives, caseworkers, healthcare, etc. You will base your work on each user's needs, interests, abilities, and individual implementation plans and personal goals. During the summer, there will be a strong focus on summer activities based on the users' interests. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is active and enjoys organizing activities.

Your qualifications and experience

You must present a diploma from a nursing program with a focus on disabilities, support pedagogy, or equivalent documented care or educational training, or that you have ongoing studies in care or educational training. You should have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, as you will have supportive conversations with users, report to colleagues, and write social documentation.

Meritorious:

Experience in the field and work with cognitive aids as well as work with people with autism and neuropsychiatric diagnoses.

The tasks require a high level of personal responsibility, flexibility, initiative, and a professional approach. Structure, routines, and planning are key words for making the operation work. We also see that you take good initiative and have the ability to collaborate as well as the ability to work independently.

We are looking for individuals who are open and flexible to work at several of our operations during the summer.

Other

To work in our units, you need to present an extract from the Police's criminal record. You order the extract yourself, and it is valid for one year. The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thereby counteracting discrimination.
