The mission of the Education and Labor Market Administration is to increase individuals' opportunities to find work and become self-sufficient through education, internships, and work. We have, among other things, the municipality's largest combined offering of upper secondary education and courses for adults.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The upper secondary schools in Halmstad municipality have a common goal of offering students the safest adventure of their lives. We want to provide great choices for students, which is why we have high demands regarding the right personnel in the right place. A teacher working with us should be well-educated and have a strong commitment to their subjects.

Sturegymnasiet is now looking for a vocational teacher for the adapted upper secondary school with a focus on vehicle maintenance and goods handling. The various theoretical and practical courses of the education are held at both Sturegymnasiet and other locations in Halmstad, which means moving together with the students during the school day. The education also includes APL, where students are out at different workplaces.

We are looking for someone who is driven to harness and develop each student's abilities and create conditions for learning. Through a professional approach, you create trust, security, and inspire students to a joyful learning experience.

The role requires close collaboration with colleagues and supervisors at the APL placements. You need to have the ability to think outside the box and find new solutions to meet the diverse needs of students. The position includes mentorship, which means you need to be comfortable in contact with guardians and in networks around the students.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license with authorization to teach vehicle maintenance and goods handling. Furthermore, you need to have extensive professional knowledge in the industry. It is an advantage if you have experience in the automotive industry and warehouse management, as well as working with students in need of special support within the adapted school forms. Experience as a special teacher is also meritorious.

As a vocational teacher in the adapted upper secondary school with a focus on vehicle maintenance and goods handling, you ensure that the education best prepares students to work with vehicle maintenance, tire handling, and warehouse work.

You enjoy working with young people and have an easy time building relationships with people. You find it natural to work together with different professions to increase students' goal achievement, are easy to collaborate with, and are receptive to ideas. You see opportunities and find new solutions for the best interest of the student, and you are clear in your leadership and confident in yourself.

You act according to our municipality's common values and are a role model for other employees. You encourage participation and creativity, show personal care by providing support and challenging in a good spirit, both for your closest colleagues and for the organization as a whole. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Experience and a B driver's license are required for the position.

If you are offered employment within the upper secondary and adapted upper secondary school at the Education and Labor Market Administration, you are obliged to present an extract from the Police's criminal record for work within schools/preschools. The extract is free of charge and takes about 2-3 weeks for the police to process. Therefore, order in good time!
