Buaskolan is located in the scenic Väröhalvön, about 20 km north of Varberg town. The school gathers approximately 190 students in the range of grades F-6, and it has a mixed-age after-school program with about 90 enrolled students.

Our educators work collaboratively every week on teaching development in various areas to adjust our teaching so that it benefits our students as much as possible. Our goal is to be a school accessible to all students where they can develop as far as possible towards both social and academic goals. Safety and well-being are important focuses that are always at the forefront of planning all activities. In our facilities, children and youth have the opportunity to develop with peers while being surrounded by students from preschool to grade 6. Buaskolan has a well-developed learning environment with easy access to outdoor activities, including a multi-arena, playgrounds, forest, and beach. The after-school facilities also inspire learning and play.

The activities in our after-school program are compensatory, where teaching is based on play and the students' needs for learning and stimulation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Together with colleagues at the school, you will plan and implement activities for the after-school program as well as teaching within the school's framework. It is a plus if you have physical education in your certification or experience teaching physical education and health, as we have a need for that. We strive to have qualified staff in all teaching, both in the after-school program and in preschool and elementary school.

Motivating and inspiring students is your greatest driving force. Together with your colleagues, you will shape a relational leadership where the quality of teaching is the focus. We create the best possible meeting for learning.

As a teacher in the after-school program with us in Varberg Municipality, you have a central role in creating a safe, developing, and motivating environment for the students. By planning, implementing, and following up on your varied teaching, you give students the opportunity to develop both socially and academically. You work to strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem through play, creativity, and movement.

Together with your colleagues, you will plan and follow up on the after-school program based on your choices of pedagogical and didactic strategies and methods, tailored to the students' needs and conditions. You meet each student in their knowledge progression and contribute to developing learning environments that encourage students' learning, participation, and influence.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a qualified teacher in the after-school program or a leisure teacher with appropriate education for working in an after-school program with about 90 enrolled children. It is seen as a positive if you also have physical education in your education.

As a teacher in the after-school program, you are engaged and have a formative approach with the ability to create motivating and activating teaching. Your teaching is based on proven experience and scientific foundations with an exploratory approach.

You thrive in collaboration with colleagues and actively contribute to developing the operation by planning and following up on teaching together. You have a good structure in your work and can adapt teaching based on students' needs and the school's goals. Together, we are responsible for creating a sustainable working environment where both students and staff feel good, can grow, and develop.
