The Multilingual Unit consists of a large team of about 50 teachers who provide study guidance/instruction to approximately 800 multilingual children and students spread across most preschools/schools in Varberg Municipality (currently offering around 30 languages).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a mother tongue teacher, you will be responsible, together with relevant colleagues, for the students' continued language development and goal fulfillment, where a solution-focused and independent working method within the team is a prerequisite for a successful learning environment. You will primarily work with study guidance in primary school and language support in preschool, but mother tongue instruction in primary school/high school may also be relevant. Individual interpreting assignments in the Multilingual Unit regarding the mapping of newly arrived students may also be applicable.

Your work is highly independent, but you will also be part of a team and various development groups, thus requiring good collaboration skills and proficiency in Swedish (Swedish 3 or equivalent).

You will work at several different workplaces, so a driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a mother tongue teacher and study guidance in the mother tongue as well as language support in preschool in German. We want you to have a teaching degree or other pedagogical education and experience. You thrive in an environment that demands punctuality, responsibility, flexibility, decisiveness, a high level of service, and social competence.

You should be able to work and communicate digitally via learning platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite/Classroom. Please describe your digital competence in your application.

As a teacher, you are engaged and have a formative approach with the ability to create motivating and activating teaching. Your teaching is based on proven experience and scientific foundations with an exploratory approach.

You thrive in collaboration with colleagues and actively contribute to developing the operations by planning and following up on teaching together. You have a good structure in your work and can adapt teaching based on students' needs and the school's goals. Together, we are responsible for creating a sustainable work environment where both students and staff feel good, can grow, and develop.

Having a driver's license and access to a personal vehicle is beneficial as the work may involve travel between different schools.
