Göteborgs Stadsmission is a non-profit organization that works to support people living in vulnerable situations. Together, we want to create a Gothenburg where everyone is included. A city where we meet the person, not the problem.

ABOUT US

Göteborgs Stadsmission and Trollhättan Municipality have initiated a collaboration through an IOP - an idea-driven public partnership.

We operate an open meeting place and emergency accommodation for women. Soon, we will also take over the operation of emergency accommodation for men.

Göteborgs Stadsmission has experience since the 1950s in working with and engaging people in various forms of vulnerability. Today, Göteborgs Stadsmission works in fields such as addiction, homelessness, poverty, mental health issues, unsustainable consumption, domestic violence, and unemployment.

We are now looking for staff who, together with Göteborgs Stadsmission, want to contribute to these operations.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The tasks in all three operations include providing psychosocial support to guests in various ways, creating a pleasant environment, and being available for conversations and advice. The work also involves ensuring that the environment is safe. There are routines and guidelines to follow and work according to. The job also includes many practical tasks within the framework of the assignments, such as meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and transportation.

As an employee of Göteborgs Stadsmission, you will have access to our training package, which includes low-arousal responses, MI, CPR, and first aid.

WHO ARE YOU?

We are looking for someone who is a social educator, treatment educator/assistant, or has another equivalent education, or is in training for the same. You need to have knowledge of community resources and the legislation and structure that govern work with vulnerable people. Since you will be transporting individuals in the role, you need to have a B driver's license and good driving experience.

Personal suitability is highly valued. Important qualities in the job include a genuine interest in people, good communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a good ability for self-reflection.

In all operations, it is advantageous if you have training/experience in harm reduction methods and motivational interviewing as a working method and approach. Previous work in addiction issues and/or mental health is also advantageous.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

The unit is located in Trollhättan, and this is where you will be based. The work is part-time (approximately 50-60%) and includes inconvenient working hours and sleeping on duty.

If an employment offer is made, a background check from the police and criminal records must be submitted before a final decision.
