In September, we will move into new premises at the New Hospital Area in Malmö (NSM). This gives us the opportunity to provide care in state-of-the-art facilities with a focus on people and to create a work environment with good conditions. Departments 11 and 12 will become a joint department at NSM in connection with the move.

The Urology Business Area (VO) consists of two wards and an outpatient clinic in Malmö. The wards have 21 and 22 beds respectively from Monday to Friday and 16 beds from Saturday to Sunday. The department focuses on highly specialized urological care with all types of surgeries in the urinary tract. We work in different teams with the following focuses: stone team, prostate team, bladder team, and open team. Surgery involves everything from minor procedures in the outpatient clinic to major pelvic surgery. Our VO has five standardized care pathways (SVF) - urothelial cancer, prostate cancer, kidney, testicular, and penile cancer, which includes all urological cancers currently covered by SVF.

We use surgical techniques that entail short hospital stays and high patient turnover, creating a dynamic workplace. In the wards, employees work with different diagnosis groups in six-month periods and then rotate to maintain broad competence. We have close cooperation between the wards where we continuously work on each employee's individual competence development. With us, we work with a constant patient focus, which in turn leads to very good results in our patient evaluations.

In the role of a nurse, you are expected to act as a team leader in close collaboration with other professional categories. Through colleagues and allocated time for your own work, you will have the opportunity to develop safely in your professional role. We work together around the patients where we support, teach, and develop care collectively. The tasks are varied and challenging as patients are of different ages with different types of illnesses. Our staff has created a six-week introduction program for you as a new nurse with us, which, in addition to a longer shadowing period, also includes lectures and internships. This introduction program is continuously evaluated and adjusted as needed.

Region Skåne invests in increased competence development for nurses. Newly graduated nurses are offered to participate in a clinical foundation year that includes lectures, clinical skills training, and access to a mentor. With us, there is the opportunity for specialized training in urological care if that is something you desire. Additionally, there is the opportunity for internships at our outpatient clinic and within our surgical operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. If you have previous experience in urology, other surgical operations, and/or the Melior journal system, this is considered an advantage.

When it comes to you as a person, you have a forward-looking attitude and a strong interest in surgical care, development, and learning. You have a good ability to remain calm in situations that require quick prioritization and shifts in focus, as the work involves both acute admissions and patients from waiting lists. Furthermore, you work evidence-based and see quality as a given. With your positive attitude and engagement, you contribute to a good work climate, where we all help each other and collaborate to achieve the best care quality for our patients.
