For our client Siemens Energy, a leading global player in the energy sector, we are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for an assignment at their site in Finspång. Thanks to high-tech and innovative product development, the company is an established partner in the energy sector that delivers advanced and sustainable solutions for the current and future needs of the market. Through this assignment, you will have the opportunity to work in an international and forward-thinking environment where development opportunities are plentiful. This is initially a consulting assignment for approximately 6 months via Unik Resurs with a very good opportunity for extension. We apply rolling selection, which means that the assignment may be filled earlier than the application deadline.

Responsibilities and Duties

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D Combustor Mechanical Design team! In this role, you will be a designer in development projects and provide support for workshops, procurement, and service. A significant challenge in the development of combustors is managing high temperatures and cyclic loads from engine starts and stops, as well as temperature variations during combustion. Your designs must meet lifespan requirements while optimizing aerodynamics for traditional fuels such as natural gas and diesel, as well as hydrogen and other carbon dioxide-reduced alternatives, to ensure stability and low emissions.

• Participate in development projects for combustors and fuel distributors
• Present your designs in design reviews
• Support service, procurement, and manufacturing
• Provide technical support to order engineers

Your Profile

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of work experience in design work
• Fluent in English

Preferred:

• Experience with gas turbines
• Experience with NX Teamcenter or PLM2020
• Interest in driving smaller projects, such as issue reports
• Experience working closely with manufacturing
• Experience in additive manufacturing
• Experience with CE marking
• Experience with ATEX certification
• Experience with PED
