The school's vision is "A warm positive school where everyone thrives and succeeds." Västra is a primary school with approximately 320 students in grades 7-9. The school houses a special education group called Kompassen. Among the staff, there is a strong commitment, and the school has a drive for development and an interest in current educational research. We are constantly working to create accessible learning environments for all students. The school's student health team plays a central role with the goal of providing teachers and students with the conditions to succeed. The unit has five lead teacher positions that work together with the school management on school development.

Västra Stenhagenskolan is a school with a versatile approach to providing every student and staff member the opportunity to reach their potential. The school has good references from parents, students, and staff alike. It is centrally located in Stenhagen, just a few kilometers from the central parts of Uppsala. There are good bus connections and a bike path to the school.

One of our physical education teachers will be on parental leave during the autumn term of 2025, and we are hereby seeking a replacement for that period.

Your assignment

In the role of physical education teacher, you will be responsible for teaching physical education and health. You will work closely with our other physical education teacher and be part of a creative and engaged team (working group). Mentorship is also included in the position.

We primarily seek a qualified teacher

We primarily seek a teacher qualified to teach the subject, but since the position is a temporary one, you who are not formally qualified may also apply.

Your background

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and certification to teach physical education and health at the middle school level. You have experience teaching in primary school. The work requires good knowledge of LGR22.

If you have experience teaching physical education and health, it is considered an advantage. We would also like you to be familiar with various school systems such as Unikum, Skola24, and IST.

As a person, you have good leadership skills. You are pedagogical and have an understanding of people's different abilities to absorb knowledge. The job suits you if you are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work. Last but not least, we are looking for someone who is clear and ensures that your messages are communicated effectively.
