Association Consultant in Arboga

Your Responsibilities

As an association consultant, you are the municipality's contact person for the association life in Arboga. You act as a link between associations and municipal administrations and companies.

The main task is to create good conditions for a rich association life in the municipality based on guidelines and policies. This is done through contact and dialogue with associations in culture, sports, and social issues. You support and guide associations in matters of operational development and collaboration. You identify various needs for communication initiatives and prepare materials for these.

Collaboration with Various Organizations

You collaborate with various organizations within Arboga municipality, for example, with Arboga Library, youth centers, schools, and social services, so that the municipality, together with the associations, can offer as broad a leisure and cultural life as possible to the residents of Arboga of all ages. Close collaboration also occurs with our municipal companies Arboga Kommunfastigheter and Arboga kommunalteknik.

As a secretary in the Leisure and Culture Committee's grant committee, you prepare, administer, and follow up on the municipality's grant activities for associations and study associations. You will be part of the group for coordinating leisure and cultural issues.

Financial and budget responsibility is included in the assignment.

The position also includes contributing to other forums for collaboration and development of Arboga's leisure and cultural life.

Qualifications

You have a post-secondary education, for example, in political science, culture, sports, or folk education, or other education/experience deemed equivalent. You have knowledge of or experience in association activities in sports and culture, and insight into children's and youth's culture. You have experience in working with grant issues as well as financial and budget responsibility. You also have experience in documentation and processing, preferably within municipal or public operations.

You have good computer skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. As a person, you are creative, structured, and enjoy working strategically. You are used to working independently and taking your own initiatives. You find it easy to make contacts and build networks.

To thrive in the role, you should have good communication and collaboration skills as well as a general interest in association life and community engagement.

You need a driver's license for a passenger car.

About the Workplace

Association support is categorized under the administrative unit of the municipal executive board. The unit consists of ten employees and has, among other things, the task of supporting and being responsible in the areas of administration, law, digitalization, and communication. The unit also includes Ekbacksbadet and the Library.

Coordination within the responsibilities of the Leisure and Culture Committee belongs to the unit, as well as meeting administration and case preparation for the municipal council, municipal executive board, Leisure and Culture Committee, and the electoral committee.
