Your Role

Being an IT architect is about so much more than just technology. You analyze the organization's needs and translate them into effective solutions while contributing to the IT strategy and ensuring it is realized in a clear roadmap. As a Solution Architect, you analyze the organization's needs and create effective solutions. You are responsible for the entire software process - from secure onboarding of third-party providers (3pp) to requirements setting for tools and processes in the software chain.

You work closely with the organization to identify areas for improvement, streamline processes, and ensure that our technical solutions support long-term goals. In this role, you will:

• Define long-term choices to meet the next generation's needs within Aeronautics.
• Analyze and develop new solutions using existing or new architecture and technology.
• Be a natural link between the organization's functional needs and technical implementation that follows strategic decisions.
• Provide decision support on which strategic, technical investments should be made to develop the architecture and reduce technical debt.
• Propose technical efficiencies such as automation, AI, and lifecycle management.
• Work strategically with IT strategy and roadmap.

You will be part of a relatively newly established team under development. Saab Aeronautics is facing significant changes where we need to increase our productivity & efficiency. Processes and routines need to be streamlined, and our IT environment needs to drive these changes through modernization, where primarily automation and AI will be key to success. Our digitalization journey started many years ago, but the development is moving fast, and new opportunities require us to intensify our work with digitalization and AI.

We have a significant legacy that we must manage, but it is time to build for the future as well. You will be part of a team that shapes Saab Aeronautics' future IT environment. You will help lead us in the right direction, focusing on bringing the "cloud's functionality" to Saab and weighing which functions we need to have in-house and which we deem useful in the public clouds. Our challenge will be to find the balance between new opportunities and traditional and new threats.

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, we believe you have several years of experience as an architect/software developer. By working with various solutions in a technical, strategic, and cross-functional manner, you have built a broad knowledge base within modern processes, routines, working methods, and tools related to software development.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in software development, you should have a good understanding and experience with tools and systems such as:
• Development tools: VS Code, Visual Studio.
• IDEs: Eclipse, NetBeans, PyCharm.
• Version control: Git.
• AI code assistants: GitHub Copilot, Codeium.
• Management platform: Jira.
• Build automation: Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD, Gitlab Runner, Github Actions.
• Containerization and orchestration: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker/Docker Swarm, Rancher.
• Development tools: Node.js, React.
• Testing and quality assurance: Selenium.
• Cloud: Azure, AWS.
• Programming languages: Python, Java, C++, Go.

• Good social skills, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to create and maintain good relationships.
• Good ability to present and explain technical solutions and contexts.
• Flexible, driven, and able to work independently.
• Extensive experience in documentation and a strong drive to document!
• Yes, you are probably a DevSecOps but understand that it is more about streamlining the workplace, avoiding manual repetitive tasks, and optimizing processes and routines while prioritizing order and clarity.
• Competence in cybersecurity and compliance with regulatory requirements in the defense industry.
• Experience in secure software development (Secure SDLC) and compliance with industry standards.
• Knowledge of AI and machine learning in software development.
• Understanding of DevSecOps principles and security automation in CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in microservices architecture and event-driven development.
• Competence in real-time and embedded systems.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security clearance, this may entail requirements for certain citizenships.
