YOUR NEW JOB

Älvan daily activities according to LSS is aimed at individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism who need close support from staff. The activities in daily operations aim to train their abilities to meet the basic demands of working life.

As a work supervisor, you will create, plan, and lead activities for participants, aiming for the participant to experience a sense of social cohesion and develop their ability to live an independent life. We offer sensory experiences, group activities, and individualized tasks. Examples of activities include swimming in the pool, outdoor activities, community litter picking, recycling, music performances, making fire starters, etc. The job also includes providing support for participants in their daily care.

We work based on individual needs and have a structured approach that includes low-affect responses, clear pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication.

YOUR COMPETENCE

We are looking for someone with education from the health and care program with a specialization in disability care, the child and leisure program, or other education in pedagogy, psychosocial areas, or similar. You have experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. It is important that you feel comfortable meeting individuals who suffer from physical or mental health issues. You should have experience supervising adults with disabilities, both individually and in groups. It is a plus if you have training and experience in clear pedagogical work (for example, according to the TEACCH model) and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). Good computer skills are also necessary, and it is advantageous if you have training in IBIC, social documentation, and experience documenting in Lifecare.

To thrive in this role, you need to have a genuine interest, pedagogical understanding, and the ability to quickly adapt in your work and find solutions. You can plan your work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and strive to deliver good solutions. It is also positive if you are creative. To thrive in the organization, you also need to have good collaboration skills, the ability to build trusting relationships, and the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. It is important that you participate in making joint decisions, follow decisions made, and work in accordance with the organization's goals.

Horse riding in the riding hall and swimming in the pool are activities that are included, and you are expected to participate.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education from the health and care program (with a specialization in disability care), child and leisure program, or other education in pedagogy, psychosocial areas, or similar.
• Driver's license (B)

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

Daily activities at Älvan is a program where about ten people participate in various activities offered by the program. The work group currently consists of 7 work supervisors with close leadership from the unit manager. We work with jointly set goals, and as an employee, you have a significant influence on the daily work.
