About us

Lotsen HVB is a well-functioning and structured organization with a lot of commitment. The facility is a smaller and family-like residence with seven places located in Ursviken. The unit is aimed at boys aged 14–18 with psychosocial and neuropsychiatric issues. Difficulties that our youth may face include anxiety, school problems, emerging substance abuse, criminal behavior, difficulties with anger or impulse control, conflict-filled relationships, and various forms of risk behaviors. Lotsen HVB accepts placements according to SoL and LVU and can accommodate boys from all over Sweden.

We work salutogenically, with motivational support and a low-affect approach. At Lotsen, we use the attachment-based approach Connect to build the youth's social, cognitive, and practical skills, with a strong emphasis on empathy training. Other parts of our treatment program include SDQ, ÅP, MI, A-CRA, and B12. It is crucial to build honest relationships and show each youth that we are always there for them.

About the position

As a substitute at Lotsen HVB, your task is to work together with the regular staff to provide 24-hour treatment through low-affect interactions with the youth in everyday life. The staff works to understand the significance of the youth's upbringing history, which in turn provides tools for understanding the youth's behavior. The staff can then create a safe, predictable, and stable environment for the youth, focusing on the essential elements of secure attachment – feeling understood, safe, and protected. A central part of the work is to maintain empathy in difficult and conflict-filled situations, to set boundaries without risking the relationship, and to show that it is always possible to reconcile and move forward.

Tasks included in the assignment are to:

• work supportively and with a low-affect approach.
• work to make everyday life function through skill training and motivational work.
• be a role model for our youth in thoughts, values, and actions.
• handle daily maintenance and well-being at the HVB, such as cleaning, cooking, etc.
• daily keep a journal in the documentation program.

Who are you?

We are looking for a warm and secure person who stands firm where many other adults have previously failed. The job requires you to make quick decisions, as circumstances can change rapidly. You should be engaged, proactive, and take responsibility for your work by managing and developing the trust we have been given in the best way possible.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience working with children and youth.
• Completed/are completing a post-secondary education in social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, treatment pedagogy, or have other education that the employer deems equivalent. However, this is not a requirement for substitute and/or vacation positions.

Other:

• Working hours: The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, nights, and weekends based on a rolling schedule.
• Employment degree: Varies and depends on needs. During the holiday period, there is an opportunity for full-time work.
• Start date: By agreement.
