Job Responsibilities

The work involves:

Being part of the team for KRUT/Jardin
Planning and implementing KOLL – anti-racist education for youth this summer
Networking
Working with target groups with a focus on participation
Developing the operations at KRUT/Jardin together with our users and creating a safe and creative meeting place
Budget work
Engaging with Malmö residents in other library activities

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

At least a 3-year high school education
Knowledge of racism and anti-racism through studies and/or practical experience
Education in pedagogical work with youth
Experience working with young people
Experience in anti-discrimination work
Experience in initiating, planning, and driving development work
Experience in engaging with people in service or other outreach activities
Good Swedish and English in both spoken and written form

It is an advantage if you have:

Experience in working with participation
Experience in networking work
Knowledge in social organizing
Other languages besides Swedish and English, especially one of Malmö's major languages
Driving license (B)

As a person, you are self-driven, collaborative, structured, and reflective.

About the Workplace

Krut is a place where young people can meet in creativity and storytelling to open up new worlds, opportunities, and dreams. You can find KRUT on the 3rd floor in the Light's calendar at the City Library. KRUT is located opposite our other youth space called Jardin. Krut works collaboratively and experimentally in close cooperation with young people, associations, and other partners. Our hope is that Krut creates meetings between people with different backgrounds, conditions, and life situations. We build Krut together with young people and others who work with youth in the city, and we want the operations to continue to be shaped in collaboration.

Jardin is the place focused on reading for young people. You can find Jardin on the 3rd floor in the Light's calendar at the City Library. Jardin is located opposite our other youth space called Krut. Jardin is the place for our reading promotion work for young people and young adults aged 14–30. Here you will find all literature for young people as well as various types of seating created for young people to have a cozy place for reading and quiet socializing in smaller groups. The City Library's events focused on literature for young people are based in Jardin.
