About the Role

Do you have a great interest in dogs and want to combine this with a socially important mission where you can really make a difference? We at Securitas are currently looking for you who want to take on the role of dog handler with us. Do you want to be part of a workgroup with both two- and four-legged colleagues? You will work as an armed security guard performing surveillance with a dog. Where you protect property, buildings, and premises from fire, theft, and damage. The work mainly takes place in industries, offices, and workshops with associated outdoor areas. To report to our customers what has been done during the work, you will use a computerized information system.

As a dog handler, you will interact with your guard dog to utilize the dog's senses for extra personal protection. The personal protection that the guard dog provides for you as a security guard also means that by learning to read the dog's reactions, you indirectly receive signals about whether there are other people in your surroundings. A good guard dog is an extension of the security guard's senses and contributes to the security guard having a greater opportunity to detect things in large premises or areas that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Requirements

You need to have approved grades in Swedish and English from at least the first year of high school. Since you will be traveling between different locations in your role, a B driver's license is a requirement for the position. If you have worked as a security guard, military or civilian, or have relevant education, this is certainly a strong merit, but not a requirement. We will train you in what is required for the position. The greatest emphasis will be placed on your personal suitability for the position.

You have a strong interest in dogs that you want to build on in your work. It is desirable that you have trained with dogs before, through a working dog club or similar. You are willing to invest time in your dog; to become an approved team requires training. The basics and support will be provided by our instructor during working hours, but time will also need to be spent in your free time.

As a person, we believe you are service-oriented, calm, and organized, able to handle periods of high work pace. You are interested in technology and have an easy time understanding instructions. We see that you who are applying are an independent person who trusts your own abilities, quickly understands problems, and solves them creatively. You have a systematic and meticulous approach with an eye for detail.

Security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) is applicable for this position.
