The Norrbotten Police Area is Sweden's largest and northernmost region and is one of the police areas in Region North. The geographical area spans 14 municipalities – from Arvidsjaur municipality in the south to Kiruna municipality in the north.

The Norrbotten Police Area is divided into four local police areas: Luleå/Boden, Northern Lapland, Piteå/Älvdal, and Eastern Norrbotten. At the police area level, there is also an investigation section, a response team, and a dog unit. Furthermore, there is a police area office.

The task of the area office is to support the area management with operational coordination, management, and follow-up of operations. The office coordinates issues, supports operational branches, and the police area as a whole.

Job Description

As an operational coordinator (OPK) in PO Norrbotten, you are responsible for the police area's operations center (PDC). You represent the police area in the regional operations center (RDC). You work closely with other functions such as operational coordinators at local police areas/sections, UND, OPVS, etc., in accordance with crime fighting in the regular organization.

Your assignment will include conducting operational assessments based on the current situation, supporting the police area management with a focus on operational issues, and serving in a staff role during special events as needed.

As an operational coordinator, you are responsible and chair the police area's operations center (PDC) based on the mandate of the police area management. The assignment means that you are responsible for driving and developing the PDC, which is primarily a dynamic support for the operational activities. You work closely with the police area's management team to support and inform about the current situation and operational issues.

During office hours, you are the contact point for the regional operations center (RDC) and ensure that the information received is assessed and translated into activity or action through the police area's sections.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

·Police degree in accordance with the Police Ordinance (2014:1105)

·At least three years of police experience from various parts of the police's operations in recent times

·At least 6 months of experience working as a team leader or similar in the last five years

·Swedish citizenship

·Training in basic leadership, as well as tactical leadership or staff methodology

It is meritorious if you also have:

·Current experience in coordinating and leading operational efforts deemed relevant by the employer

·Current experience in starting up working groups or projects deemed relevant by the employer.

·Current experience in conducting training in basic leadership, either in tactical leadership or staff methodology

·Participation in management forums/management groups

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who can take initiative and has the ability to see what needs to be done. We also see that you are clear and possess good communication skills and are comfortable delegating and coordinating work. You are also flexible with the ability to handle multiple events and situations simultaneously while maintaining quality. In the role, it is important that you can collaborate as well as be self-driven in your work.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
