We are now looking for a security coordinator for our team

As a security coordinator, you will work on developing the municipality's civil preparedness. We work together within the security function and in collaboration with the municipality's administrations, companies, and associations.

The Security Unit is one of five units within the municipal executive administration in Mellerud. From here, the municipal group's work with civil defense, crisis preparedness, and security protection is coordinated.

We also have a collaboration agreement with Bengtsfors municipality that strengthens each other and the municipalities' work in the area. Together, we are three employees with the security manager as your immediate supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

The work as a security coordinator involves, based on a plan, practically supporting the municipalities' various operations in planning, developing, following up, training, and exercising our various capabilities to reduce vulnerability and increase the ability to handle peacetime crises and heightened preparedness. The work is both strategic and operational and changes with the environment.

You are expected to lead and drive your own projects and processes, but also participate in and support others' assignments. You will have contact with public and private actors, volunteer organizations, and the general public. You will likely also be part of the municipality's crisis management organization.

The Security Unit works with municipal crisis management, continuity management, preparedness planning, collaboration and leadership, security protection, training, exercises, and evaluations in the area. Our tasks will be designed and distributed based on the municipality's needs, existing employees, and your skills and abilities.

New knowledge is not heavy to carry. When the opportunity arises, we have a positive attitude towards competence development within the assignment.

Your Profile

As a person, you are secure, stable, and outgoing. You work in a structured, careful, and systematic manner. You have good problem-solving skills, are analytical, and find it easy to learn new things. You have a holistic view and understand the importance of collaboration to achieve good results.

You have the ability to independently plan, prioritize, and organize your work so that it leads to desired results within given time frames. You have the ability to create good relationships both internally and externally, you enjoy a coordinating role but also have no problem being driving in your issues. You have the ability to translate written plans into actual actions.

Qualifications

Our security function needs to be strengthened with an employee who has experience or knowledge in the areas of civil defense, crisis preparedness, and security protection. We are looking for someone who is interested in developing society and has the municipality's residents as a central starting point in their work.

You have a relevant university degree in risk and crisis management, community planning, civil protection, or other education or experience that the employer deems relevant.

You have knowledge of the crisis preparedness system or experience working with issues related to civil preparedness.

Experience from municipal operations or work in a politically governed organization is an advantage.

We are very keen to have a good working group that functions and complements each other, so in addition to having the right competence profile, your personal suitability is crucial.

The assignment involves travel in the service, so you need to have a driver's license with category B. The position requires an approved security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585), which means a requirement for Swedish citizenship. It is also a requirement to be able to absorb and share information, both verbally and in writing.
