About the Position

The position is located in the IT Operations unit, one of five units within the Information Supply and Digitalization Department. Here at IT Operations, we are responsible for the operation and maintenance of Örebro Municipality's operational systems. We are about twenty employees, and among our services are application operations, client operations, server and network operations, storage, backup, and database management. Örebro Municipality aims to be a modern employer, and therefore we offer the possibility to work partially remotely.

In Örebro Municipality, we work within our governance and collaboration model based on PM3. You will be part of a team as an IT Specialist, where you will be led by the IT Object Manager. We apply ITIL processes for managing our IT components and planning.

You will be a key person in dialogue with suppliers and planning upcoming work.

Examples of Work Tasks:

be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the systems you are responsible for. This primarily involves: monitoring/alerts, troubleshooting, supplier contacts, upgrades, support during procurements, and keeping operational documentation updated
participate in upgrades with preparations and planning as well as troubleshooting
operation and maintenance of the database platform and server environment
part of 3rd line support
participation in projects

The department is divided into five units: the unit for assignment management, service and support, the development unit, IT operations, and the unit for strategy, architecture, and transformation. In the role of IT Specialist Application Operations, you will belong to IT Operations, with our workplace located in Stadsbyggnadshus 2 and Åbylunden 1.

Qualifications

In your role as an IT Specialist, it is important that you listen, communicate, and collaborate well with your colleagues. You have a technical understanding and work well with complex issues, breaking down and solving problems. To thrive in the role, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in change. You take responsibility and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively, and you have good documentation skills. The position requires that you have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to a good work environment. Requirements:

academic education of at least 180 credits preferably with an IT focus, or experience that the employer assesses as equivalent
at least 3 years of experience in similar tasks
experience with databases, primarily SQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
experience with Microsoft Windows Server
experience with Microsoft IIS
good scripting skills in Powershell

Meritorious:

experience with Microsoft SCOM
experience with container technology, such as Docker
experience with cloud services, such as Azure
experience with PM3
experience with ITIL
good knowledge of Microsoft AD
good knowledge of virtualization solutions for remote access, such as Citrix

Other Information

The position is security classified, and a background check and security interview will take place before employment. Since the position is security classified, Swedish citizenship is required.

The position may involve being part of an on-call rotation for the application operations area with recurring weekly on-call duties approximately every fourth week.
