Your Role

We are now looking for a Cyber Security Engineer who wants to be part of our cybersecurity team within Kockums, located in Karlskoga or Linköping. Your role includes system hardening within Linux, developing security functionality for operating systems, and providing operational support regarding the technical aspects of IT security work.

You will be involved in the development of products within our business area Underwater Systems. You will be an important part of the development of our future products as well as maintaining the existing product portfolio.

Within the products we support, we have a wide variety from embedded systems where we develop large parts of our electronics ourselves, to large graphical planning systems. We have many new projects underway, which brings significant challenges with exciting and varied tasks.

We support a large part of the organization and are in an expansive phase where we need to strengthen with more colleagues at both locations.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with experience in application-level cybersecurity work and a solid practical technical background, preferably in IT operations, system administration, or operating system configuration. It is a plus if you also have good experience with software and programming.

For the role, it is important that you have experience or knowledge of administering Linux environments, including security controls such as SELinux and AppArmor. You should also have worked with scripting in Bash and have knowledge of log management in Linux environments. If you also have experience developing RPM packages, that is a significant advantage.

In addition, it is beneficial if you have experience or knowledge in areas such as system hardening and frameworks like CIS Controls or DOD STIG, as well as requirement work and frameworks like KSF and NIST. Experience with security controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, logging tools, and Access Control, as well as network configuration with, for example, Cisco, is also valuable.

Knowledge in Python programming for automation, experience in a similar role for Windows, or work with container technologies like Podman and Docker are additional skills that strengthen your profile. We are looking for someone who is curious and ready to contribute to our work in cybersecurity.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to applicable security protection regulations.
