About the Job

Do you want to help develop systems for statistical production that underpin important decisions in both politics and business? Do you want to grow alongside knowledgeable colleagues and contribute to important community projects? With us, you will belong to the IT department in Örebro, with about 140 engaged colleagues, and be responsible for the systems that enable this statistical production. In a world where it is becoming increasingly difficult to know which information to trust, our mission to steer towards the future with the help of facts is more important than ever.

We are now looking for 1-3 software developers for our IT development unit, which works with both management and new development. Are you a curious and engaged software developer who is relatively new in your role? You may have recently started working as a software developer or have worked for a couple of years. Do you want to be part of a fantastic team with a wealth of experience where you can grow and develop in your role while contributing your knowledge? Then we have the position for you!

About the Role:

In our team, you will work on the development of critical systems that make a real difference and are central to SCB's future statistical production process.

You will participate in the team's development and management work. As a junior developer, you will have a more senior developer as a mentor. The mentor is there to support you in getting into the work, the team, and the systems in the best way possible.

The teams often manage a large and varied system landscape. Therefore, it is important that you have a willingness to learn and the ability to be flexible in your work as well as to switch between different technologies. The work may involve both large and small efforts, and the team sometimes participates in larger projects.

About You

We want you to have:

• A degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar degree that we assess as equivalent
• Work experience in:
• Development in C# .NET
• Development in SQL
• Web client development
• A collaboration tool for software development such as Azure DevOps server or Git
• Good ability to communicate in spoken and written Swedish

It is advantageous if you have work experience in one or more of the following technologies/areas:

• Javascript/HTML/CSS
• Development in React or Blazor
• Working with APIs
• IT security
• WCAG
• Python
• Development of any AI or ML solution
• Working with unit tests
• Experience working within a larger and complex organization, where collaboration between different roles and functions is a central part.

More Information

This position is located in the Statistics and Analysis section of the IT Development Unit in Örebro Åkullegatan 14.

Depending on the operational conditions, there is also the possibility to work some time from home.

The employment is permanent and usually begins with a six-month probationary period. The start date will be agreed upon.

One of the positions is security classified, so we will conduct a security review with a background check before making a hiring decision.
