SiS Youth Home Eknäs receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and substance abuse.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant or treatment pedagogue at SiS Youth Home Eknäs. Eknäs offers care and treatment for school-age boys (target group 12-16 years).

As a treatment assistant or treatment pedagogue, you work in a team with other professional categories (such as treatment coordinators, teachers, psychologists, etc.) and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge and skills in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and contribute to the smooth running of everyday life with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. In the role of treatment pedagogue, contact person duties may be included. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule, day - evening, and weekend.

As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

For the position of treatment assistant:

• Completed secondary education
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
• Driver's license B
• Good Swedish in speech and writing

For the position of treatment pedagogue:

• Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or a degree from a university that we assess as equivalent.
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
• Driver's license B

Experience in care and/or substance abuse treatment is an advantage. Applicants who have completed training in ART or MI and have experience using these methods are highly desirable.

Eknäs is located 10 kilometers outside of Enköping's center. Therefore, it is very important that you have a driver's license and access to your own means of transportation (car, moped, or similar).

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathy, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

We want to give you something extra if you work with us during the holiday period. If you work as a monthly employed temporary employee for more than four weeks, you will receive a bonus of 2500 SEK per week, based on full-time work. This means that the bonus is paid from week 5 onwards.
