One of our deacons is retiring.

Would you like to take her place? She leaves behind a well-functioning and established operation, as well as a team of two additional deacons and a deacon assistant, enabling us to operate throughout the Sollefteå parish.

We are looking for someone who, inspired by Jesus, wants to make a difference in people's lives and be a driving force in our diaconal work. If you are attracted to leadership tasks and have the right experience, that can also be included in the position.

You will have primary responsibility for the diaconal work in the Långsele, Graninge, Helgum, and Ramsele-Edsele parishes. You will plan, lead, and develop various activities for adults – everything from retreats and discussion groups to parish trips and craft cafés. All work is done in close collaboration with both volunteer and employed staff.

Your mission includes, of course, offering spiritual care and support, providing financial assistance to individuals, and leading a support group together with representatives from the municipality. You will also plan and lead services at special housing facilities.

Together with the rest of the diaconal team, you will stay updated on developments in diaconal work at local, diocesan, and national levels, driving the operation forward.

• You are ordained as a deacon in the Church of Sweden and preferably have a basic education in social work.
• You have the ability to build trust and long-term relationships both within the parish and with external actors.
• You can use digital tools and communicate in both spoken and written forms.
• You have a driver's license and access to your own car.
• We place great emphasis on personal qualities and suitability.
