Do you want to help create a safe and inclusive school environment?
Our appreciated counselors are leaving us to build a school social team in Sundsvall – now we are looking for you who want to take over and continue developing the student health work at Arenaskolan!
Arenaskolan is a secondary school for grades 7–9 with both regular and adapted primary school.
We work with good management, clear structures, and a strong culture of collaboration to give our students the best conditions for success. The student health team plays a central role in the school's development, and we are now looking for two dedicated school counselors who want to help drive this important work forward.
Your mission
As a school counselor at Arenaskolan, you will be part of the school's student health team and collaborate with school management, educators, and other student health professionals to support students' development towards the school's goals.
You will work proactively, preventively, and remedially at the organizational, group, and individual levels from a psychosocial and salutogenic perspective.
Your tasks include:
- Leading and supporting colleagues in preventive and promotional work.
- Participating in the school's work with accessible learning environments, adapted teaching, and value-based work.
- Working to prevent and manage discrimination and abusive treatment.
- Collaborating with other authorities and organizations to strengthen the student's well-being.
- Being an active part of the school's development work together with school management and other professionals in the student health team.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another relevant higher education (e.g., a degree in behavioral sciences with at least 180 credits in social work, pedagogy, or psychology).
We prefer that you have:
- Experience in therapeutic work with children and adolescents.
- Experience in promotional and preventive work in schools.
- Good collaboration skills and the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
- The ability to work independently, make decisions, and drive development.
- Familiarity with the school's governing documents and good digital competence.
We are looking for someone who is unpretentious, flexible, and has a solution-focused approach. You thrive in a role where you have a lot of personal responsibility and are given the space to take your own initiatives.
Welcome to a school with a strong student health team and an important mission!
