Boverket is looking for an engineer for the EU and market control team

Boverket is the national authority for planning, construction, and housing. We want to contribute to a sustainable society with good housing in viable environments. Boverket has its main office located in Karlskrona, with a smaller office in Malmö. Today, about 230 people work at the agency, including architects, civil engineers, economists, lawyers, communicators, planners, and social scientists.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a civil engineer interested in community development and preparedness? Due to the changing global situation, there is also an increased focus on Boverket's work with supply issues within the construction sector related to crisis preparedness and civil defense. Boverket may also become a preparedness authority responsible for construction and facilities.

Boverket is now looking for a civil engineer or equivalent to our EU and market control team. The focus of the work is on supply preparedness of construction products, mapping of technical characteristics for construction products, and market control. Market control means that we, as an authority, check that the construction products available on the market meet the requirements of applicable legislation. Parts of the work are done in project form and other parts are included in the agency's ongoing work. You will be part of a couple of different teams consisting of experts, lawyers, and administrators. In the teams, you are expected to contribute as a technical expert to collectively find solutions to complex issues. If applicable, you will also be the project manager for development work and other assignments.

At Boverket, assignments and focus vary over time within planning, construction, and housing. There are therefore great opportunities to broaden your expertise in different areas. We expect our experienced investigators and experts to contribute in several areas based on the needs of the organization. At Boverket, you can work with everything from government assignments, other supervisory areas, or support to other units. Other related tasks may also become relevant, such as collaboration with other authorities, dialogue with industry actors, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a civil engineer, or has another academic education deemed equivalent, and has a strong interest in engineering issues related to preparedness. You should have expertise in construction, building materials, and crisis preparedness and civil defense.

We value if you have any of the following:

• experience of relevant work at a preparedness authority,
• experience in project management,
• experience in supervisory work,
• experience in developing risk and vulnerability analyses,
• experience in standardization work,
• experience in conducting market analyses,
• experience in investigative work/administration.

As part of the job involves developing a new operation, both your skills and abilities are of utmost importance. You need to be able to work goal-oriented and structured, have a good ability to work in development projects with changing goals, be analytical, have good self-leadership, and a good ability to collaborate.

You have your own drive and good initiative to contribute to the team achieving its goals. You are meticulous and safety-conscious. The tasks include both advising and exercising authority, which entails requirements for objectivity, professionalism, and a high degree of service. You communicate clearly and pedagogically in both spoken and written Swedish and English. We place great importance on these personal abilities.
