Business Description

We want to perform more inspections in health protection and are now looking for an additional inspector for our health protection group.

Söderåsen Environmental Association is a municipal association for the municipalities of Klippan, Perstorp, Svalöv, and Örkelljunga, an area that together has about 50,000 inhabitants. The association is responsible for supervision and control primarily according to the Environmental Code and food legislation, as well as for energy and climate advice in our four member municipalities. The organization employs about 25 people and is centrally located in Klippan. By creating a larger joint environmental office, our employees have the opportunity to specialize in various inspection areas, making it easier to maintain high competence than in an individual municipality.

The administration's inspection activities are divided into two departments, and you will belong to the department for health protection, food, and age-restricted goods. The department consists of 8 inspectors, of which 3 primarily work with environmental supervision related to health protection. In addition, control of food legislation related to food businesses and control of legislation related to the sale of tobacco, electronic cigarettes, nicotine-free products, low-alcohol beer, and over-the-counter medicines is carried out.

Job Responsibilities

Within the health protection area, there is a need for an additional inspector, and therefore we want to strengthen the group with a full-time position. As an environmental inspector focusing on health protection, you will primarily conduct inspections according to the Environmental Code. The work involves planning and conducting inspections as well as issuing authority decisions in the area. It also includes processing incoming cases such as handling applications, investigating complaints, and providing information and guidance to both entrepreneurs and private individuals. Health protection conducts inspections in schools, preschools, professional hygienic activities, housing inspections, swimming pools, solariums, and smoke-free environments. The health protection group also performs measurements of background radiation and legionella sampling.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in environmental and health protection, environmental science, or another equivalent university degree and an interest in health protection supervision. Experience in regulatory authority activities, knowledge of administrative law, the Environmental Code, and other relevant legislation is also meritorious, as is experience in supervision according to the Environmental Code and health protection area.

The work as an inspector involves contact with people from various backgrounds, origins, and with different conditions. This therefore places high demands on integrity and professionalism. You need to be able to make factual and objective assessments and set clear requirements. You should be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing. You should be communicative both within the environmental association and towards businesses, citizens, and municipalities. You need to be able to collaborate with others and follow the group's decisions. We would like you to be able to work independently, while it is also important that you have a structured working method and a good ability to make well-founded decisions. We work both individually and in groups. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
