JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The position is primarily focused on supervision of environmentally hazardous activities, agriculture, contaminated land, PCB, waste management, health protection, and incoming complaints.

The municipality has several health protection objects that require reporting, and within environmental supervision, there are both C-activities and U-activities. For example, the industries you will supervise within environmental protection include wood processing, metal processing, surface treatment, painting, mechanical workshops, recycling centers, and shooting clubs.

The municipality has an old dry cleaner with risk class 1 and 10 objects with risk class 2. Regarding supervision of contaminated areas, a project is ongoing at the old dry cleaner, which is the seventh most contaminated site in Skåne. The municipality supervises the project led by the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU).

QUALIFICATIONS

We place great importance on personal qualities, and to succeed in the role of environmental and health protection inspector, you need to be service-oriented, responsible, structured, self-driven, persistent, and have the ability to show judgment in actions and decisions.

As a person, you are attentive and can combine the service and authority roles in your customer contacts. We also expect you to have an easy time collaborating and creating good relationships.

Experience in the profession is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a university degree in environmental and health protection or other education deemed equivalent
• Believes that good treatment and good service are important for success in supervision work
• Experience in independent handling in a similar role
• Good knowledge of the Environmental Code and related legislation
• Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as the position involves meetings with many people and writing inspection reports and decisions
• Experience working in case management systems, such as ECOS, is an advantage
• Driver's license for a car (B)

OTHER

There is an opportunity to combine the work with being a part-time firefighter. Assessment will be based on the needs of the operation.
