Business Description

We have two colleagues who will be going on parental leave this summer. They work with environmental supervision focusing on environment/industry, and we need substitutes for them.

Söderåsen Environmental Association is a municipal association for the municipalities of Klippan, Perstorp, Svalöv, and Örkelljunga, an area that together has about 50,000 inhabitants. The association is responsible for supervision and control primarily according to the Environmental Code and food legislation, as well as for energy and climate advice in our four member municipalities. The organization employs about 25 people and is centrally located in Klippan. By creating a larger joint environmental office, the municipalities provide our employees with opportunities for specialization in various supervisory areas, making it easier to maintain high competence than in a single municipality.

The department's supervisory activities are divided into two divisions, and you will belong to the environmental protection division. The division consists of about 12 inspectors, five of whom work with supervision of industries and contaminated land, among other things. In addition, supervision is carried out on agriculture, individual sewage systems, and waste management.

Job Responsibilities

As we will have parental leave in the workgroup, we are looking for two substitute environmental inspectors who want to work with us. You will primarily work with supervision, assessment, and providing information/advice within the scope of the Environmental Code. Supervision of B, C, and U facilities is relevant. A large part of the work consists of contact with operators both in the field and from the office. You will draft inspection reports, orders, and service letters, as well as make independent decisions.

You have great opportunities to plan and manage your work. In addition, the group works together towards the organization's goals, and we place great emphasis on good cooperation and team spirit.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in environmental and health protection, environmental science, or another equivalent university education, and an interest in environmental protection supervision. Experience in regulatory authority, knowledge of administrative law, the Environmental Code, and other relevant legislation is advantageous, as is experience in supervision according to the Environmental Code and the environmental/industry area.

The work as an inspector involves contact with people from various backgrounds, origins, and with different conditions. This therefore places high demands on integrity and professionalism. You need to be able to make factual and objective assessments and set clear requirements. This also means that you are good at communicating in both spoken and written Swedish. You should be communicative both within the environmental association and towards companies, citizens, and the municipalities.

You need to be able to collaborate with others and follow the group's decisions. We prefer that you can work independently, but it is also important that you have a structured working method and a good ability to make well-founded decisions. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
