Responsibilities

As a polymer engineer at REMONDIS, you will play a key role in their journey to lead the development of plastic recycling in Sweden. You will be the company's foremost expert in plastics and polymers, responsible for ensuring that their materials and products meet the highest quality and sustainability standards.

In this multifaceted role, you will work both strategically and operationally. You will drive and develop their internal processes, from analysis and testing of incoming materials to the development of product recipes and technical data sheets. You will ensure that their laboratories – both existing and future – are optimally equipped and function as knowledge centers for the business.

Your work will also extend beyond the laboratory, where you will work closely with the sales and purchasing teams during customer visits and actively contribute to decisions that affect their product portfolio.

By collaborating with the team and sharing your expertise, you will ensure the creation of the best possible solutions. You will stay updated on legal requirements and industry trends, and together you will identify new opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Examples of your tasks:

  • Responsible for sampling, preparation, and analysis of material samples from new fractions
  • Develop and manage product recipes and ensure that technical and safety data sheets are up to date
  • Lead the work of building and maintaining laboratories, including training of staff
  • Drive and participate in development projects and conduct market analysis to stay ahead
  • Ensure that their materials meet specifications and fulfill their customers' needs through close collaboration with sales, purchasing, and production teams

Requirements:

  • Education as a polymer engineer or in mechanical engineering, chemistry, or process engineering
  • Experience in testing and material development of plastics and polymers
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish plastics industry
  • Fluent Swedish in speech and writing
  • Driver's license B

Meritorious:

  • An existing network within the plastics industry
  • Experience in recipe management and mixing of polymers

The position is located in Staffanstorp, where you will be part of a team of 30 employees. You will also be involved in their facility in Röstånga, which is an important part of their future development.
