Second Helicopter Squadron
The unit is one of the four helicopter squadrons of the Swedish Armed Forces Helicopter Wing. The squadron has a ground operational focus, which means that our task is to primarily support the army with air transport of personnel and equipment to increase the mobility of ground units. The squadron is also tasked with supporting police intervention units with air transport. Additionally, we support civilian authorities with, among other things, firefighting and medical transport. The squadron is on standby 24/7, all year round.
Main Responsibilities
The maintenance section is being established and will, when fully built up, consist of 35 civilian employees divided into 3 service teams and a staff/management. The section's task is to carry out Base maintenance, repairs, and modifications on HKP16 (UH-60M Blackhawk) / HKP15 (Agusta 109) and, if necessary, provide support for Line maintenance. As a manager with personnel responsibility, you will lead the aviation maintenance service in the maintenance section. This means you are responsible for personnel planning, recruitment, budget, performance monitoring, skills development, salary setting, and operational planning. You will work largely independently and be part of a management team under the company commander. You will be placed in a war position. The work will involve some travel within Sweden and may also include work abroad.
Qualifications:
- Aviation technician education (B1/B2) or other relevant aviation technical education assessed by the employer, such as functional training for aviation maintenance officers.
- Appropriate management training and experience in personnel management.
- Good experience and knowledge of managing aviation maintenance services (SE EMAR 145 or EASA 145).
- Good knowledge of maintenance planning for helicopter systems and their equipment.
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in both English and Swedish.
- Driving license B.
Desirable:
- Experience working in military aviation (RML)
- Experience working as an aviation technician/mechanic.
- EMAR 66 certificate Cat. B1/B2/C
- Knowledge of budget and finance from revenue-funded operations.
- Basic training in HUMAN FACTORS and the organization's procedures. Training can be provided after employment but before taking full responsibility as a manager.
- Completed training package for basic military aviation training according to LML (Management Military Aviation) or equivalent competence.
- Very good knowledge as a MANAGER during the competence assessment. Competence assessment will be conducted before employment.
- Experience in the Armed Forces' IT environment, FENIX, PRIO, VIDAR, etc.
