Group Manager for the Capacity and Analysis Section

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transport.

The mission of the Capacity and Analysis Section is to ensure that there is a stock of places that meets occupancy and client development both in the short and long term. Through risk and gap analyses, we assess the authority's need for prison and remand places, define capacity needs, and based on that, initiate processes and take measures to ensure capacity in line with the needs.

The section coordinates the assessment of the operational prerequisites for creating capacity for prison and remand operations. We are also responsible for coordinating regional and national levels in occupancy and capacity issues, as well as providing appropriate support to create places and effective processes for this.

The section is under construction, and internal work has begun to establish an operational and a strategic group. We are now looking for a group manager for each group. The primary focus area of the operational group is capacity within the authority for 0-4 years, while the strategic group's main focus is on 4 years and beyond. The groups interact and support each other in realizing the overall capacity needs of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a group manager, you will have personnel responsibility for a workgroup of about 8 employees. Together with the section manager and group manager, you will be part of the section's management team. You will also have close cooperation with other sections within the prison, remand, and probation departments, as well as at regional and local levels, as well as other departments at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's headquarters, which will be part of your collaboration arena.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree or other education in combination with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Several years of work experience in capacity and expansion work
• Experience in work and personnel management
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish

It is advantageous if you have:

• Documented leadership training
• Experience as a manager
• Relevant experience from other public operations
• Experience in project and management control
• Experience working in several of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's various subsystems and understanding their functions

We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security check in accordance with the Security Protection Act. The position is classified in a security class, and a security check including a security interview with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security check, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective.
