Unit Manager for Information Management

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are a total of about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

Description

The focus of the Digitalization and Development Department (DUA) is to drive the development of the Migration Agency's processes and capabilities through innovation and digitalization.

Through cohesive process management and business development (both with and without IT elements), we work to increase the efficiency and quality of the Migration Agency's operations.

DUA consists of four sections.

The Section for Strategy and Information Management consists of two units. Information Management has the following functions and areas of responsibility:

• Systematic information quality (including information care)
• Registration
• Administrative archives
• Section's support function

Responsibilities

You have personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility for a unit of about 20 employees that you lead and develop towards set goals. As a unit manager, you are responsible for leading the operations of your unit where goal fulfillment, a good work environment, and development are prioritized highly. As a leader, you create conditions for a developing and positive work climate that allows employees to grow in their roles and carry out their tasks in the best possible way. You harness and strengthen the drive that exists among employees through participation, engagement, and focus on our applicants. You report to the Section Head and are part of the section's management team. In the management team work, you contribute to the continuous development of the operations from the section's holistic perspective.

You perform your duties in close collaboration with various functions and teams within DUA, but also with close cooperation with functions outside DUA.

Qualifications

As a manager, you should have good communication skills and find it easy to develop various collaborations. You have an interest in analyzing and driving issues that fall within the unit's area of responsibility, in order to be able to support their implementation in ongoing operations.

For the Information Management Unit, you should have documented experience of working with both business development, government strategies, digitalization, procurement, inter-agency cooperation, and information management.

For the Information Management unit, you should have documented experience of working with both business development, administrative law, registration issues, and archives.

Requirements

• A university degree that the employer deems relevant for the position or other education combined with relevant experience.
• Current managerial experience with responsibility for budget, work environment, and personnel.
• Experience in business development.
• Ability to express yourself very well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

Merits

• Experience in registration issues and archives.
• Experience in a leadership position within government operations.
