Shipit Sweden AB is the Swedish branch of Shipit, a leading Finnish provider of transport management systems (TMS). We bring popular carriers under one roof, enabling companies to manage and optimize their shipping flows centrally via direct ERP and WMS integrations, ready-made e-commerce integrations, an open API, or our web-based user interface. Thousands of companies, online stores, and private individuals rely on Shipit, which handles millions of shipments annually in the form of parcels, letters, and pallets.

Job Responsibilities

As a developer here, you will play a central role in the continued development of our logistics platform, with a particular focus on backend and integrations with carriers and e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, for which Shipit has developed several apps in recent years. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining integrations with carriers such as PostNord, DHL Freight, DSV Road, Early Bird, Budbee, Instabox, CityMail, Asendia, FedEx, and UPS.
• Working with application architecture and the continued development of Shipit's API.
• Implementing ongoing improvements to our internal administration systems.
• Writing thorough tests that capture real defects and edge cases, not just confirming that the code works under ideal conditions.
• Contributing to clear and concise documentation that supports team collaboration and customer communication.

As Shipit continues to grow, the responsibilities may also include other contributions where you can help drive our development forward.

We are looking for you who

• Have knowledge of modern PHP and experience with Laravel.
• Have experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Have experience with React and good knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Have knowledge of integrations with third-party APIs.
• Have knowledge of established development principles such as MVC, separation of concerns, and service-oriented application design.
• Have strong problem-solving skills and a self-driven, independent working style.
• Have good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English. Finnish language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in modernizing and scaling existing systems.
• Knowledge of UX/UI design principles.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design.
• Experience building complex Livewire components.
• Experience integrating logistics carrier APIs.
• Experience with Go or Rust.

Our Tech Stack

Backend: PHP 8.5, Laravel 13, Go, Rust, MySQL 8.4, PostgreSQL, and Valkey. Frontend: React, Livewire 4, Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

We are open to evolving the stack further, but we prefer reliable and proven solutions over chasing the latest trends — stability, maintainability, and proven performance weigh the heaviest. AI is encouraged as a support tool in research, exploration, and development, but never as a substitute for personal understanding: every delivered solution must be fully understood, evaluated, and owned by the person delivering it.

Basic Info

Location: Jönköping, with the possibility of 100% remote work.

Employment type: 6-month probation period, followed by a permanent position.
