Workplace Description
Working in the Police IT department means being a crucial part of the police operations where we all tackle a larger mission together and create real change. The IT department plays a vital role in crime prevention and law enforcement, and our primary task is to provide IT services to the entire Swedish Police Authority to streamline and improve the quality of police work.
Our Delivery and Support group works with delivering, maintaining, coordinating, and organizing the technology used by the Authority's employees. We deliver and provide support for all technology used by core operations. In addition to office equipment, you will also handle police-specific IT equipment. We are now looking to strengthen our team with a technician who wants to work with second-line support and technology installations in various assignments. You will become part of a team with a broad mix of experiences and perspectives. Job Description
As an IT Technician, you have an exciting workday where you work close to operations in an interesting work environment. You focus on solutions based on the police's work and the operations' needs.
Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing IT support on-site in the operations (second-line) and helping our end-users with technical issues.
- Working with installations during renovations.
- Delivery and installation of new technology in various areas.
- Administration of existing equipment.
Working as an IT Technician within Delivery and Support means being part of a strong team where collaboration and community are in focus. Primarily, we meet our users in physical meetings and provide on-site support. The location is in Skövde, but you will operate within the entire West region. Travel is involved, and on-call duties are part of the position.
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Several years of relevant and current practical experience as a Second-line IT Technician, support technician, on-site technician, or in another equivalent role, where you have independently handled cases and delivered qualified IT support.
- Relevant experience in independently driving your own work, preferably where you have driven and planned projects or managed implementations.
- Good knowledge regarding PCs, printers, peripherals, and network communication equipment.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both in speech and writing.
- Category B driver's license with experience driving manual cars.
The position requires Swedish citizenship.
Meritorious Qualifications
The following competencies are otherwise meritorious for the position. You do not need to have skills in all areas, as you will have the opportunity for further training and on-the-job learning with us.
- IT-oriented upper secondary or post-secondary education. Preferably with a focus where you have acquired good knowledge in networking and infrastructure and/or IT operations with a focus on hardware.
- Experience working in case management systems, with accompanying documentation.
- Knowledge in Cisco, such as CCNA certification.
- Experience working administratively with server configuration, policy management, and/or Active Directory (AD).
- Experience setting up new workstations and new establishments.
- Experience with mobile phone administration in larger organizations as deemed relevant by the employer.
- Experience working with telephone exchange systems.
- Experience working with audio/video systems/conference facilities.
