Do you want to help create conditions for a more independent and meaningful life for other people? We are now looking for a Social Secretary for Assignment LSS. Here you work with implementing decisions and creating effective support measures by matching the right contact persons and support families to the right individual.
YOUR ROLE
As a Social Secretary, you are responsible for implementing decisions regarding support measures such as contact persons and support families. The role has a clear focus on implementation, which means that you do not investigate individuals' needs but work on turning already made decisions into functioning support measures.
You take over when the decision has been made and drive the process forward in dialogue with LSS case workers at the decision unit – from the first contact with the individual to follow-up, adjustment, and if necessary, termination of the support measure. An important part of the assignment is to recruit and match contact persons and support families to the right individual. This means that you investigate and assess the suitability of the service providers and create conditions for the support measure to function over time. The role also involves actively working to reach out to and attract new service providers to ensure that there are contact persons and support families available to meet the existing needs.
You supervise the service providers and have ongoing dialogue with both them and the person receiving the support. The work involves many parallel processes where you need to be able to prioritize, plan, and create progress while maintaining quality.
A large part of the work is administrative and includes documentation, implementation plans, follow-up of support measures, and handling of payments. You work in business systems and are responsible for ensuring that the work is carried out in a structured manner and with high quality.
Collaboration is a natural part of everyday life. You have ongoing contact with colleagues, the decision unit, and other actors, both internally and externally, and contribute to developing working methods and routines within the operation.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
You have a degree in social work or another education that the employer considers equivalent. By equivalent education, we mean a university education that contains relevant parts within, for example, social law or administrative law, investigation methodology, and social work. It is meritorious if you have experience of investigative work and preferably similar assignments with a focus on the implementation of support measures. Experience within the LSS area is meritorious, especially within contact persons and support families, as well as experience working with people with disabilities.
If you have experience of recruiting, investigating, or matching people to assignments, we consider this meritorious, as well as experience in making suitability assessments.
You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have sufficient knowledge of English to communicate in your work. You are also confident in working with digital systems.
As a person, you are structured and have the ability to plan and organize your work even when the pace is high. You are stable and handle pressure and changes in a constructive way. You have a respectful and considerate approach, are receptive in meetings with others, and find it easy to collaborate. At the same time, you take responsibility for your assignment, work independently, and make well-founded decisions in everyday life.
A B-driver's license is a requirement as the work involves travel for work purposes, for example during home visits and follow-ups.
YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
Assignment LSS is part of Support and Service, the Social Services Office. The operation is responsible for implementing decisions on support measures according to LSS, with a special focus on contact persons, support families, accompaniment, and respite care. Here you work together with the unit manager and coordinator in a small team where the collaboration is close and decision paths are short.
The work is based on a salutogenic approach where the focus is on the individual's strengths and opportunities. Together with the individual, conditions are created for participation in society and a more independent and meaningful life. You become part of an operation with a clear mission where quality, structure, and professional approach are central – and where you, together with your colleagues, contribute to developing the work forward.
We apply annual working hours and your workplace is in the activity-based part of the City Hall in Skellefteå, where you work close to your colleagues in the team.
NICE TO KNOW
We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a cover letter, you answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV. Work psychological tests are used as part of the recruitment process.
