The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland, with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric operations, several specialized outpatient clinics, and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works towards equal care and treatment based on research and clinical experience.

The Psychiatric Clinic has moved to a newly built building where the care environment is characterized by the idea that the environment plays a significant role in promoting health. Care and working conditions are supported by modern technology and research.

The Psychiatric Acute and Assessment Clinic is a multiprofessional clinic where care assistants, administrators, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and doctors work together. The clinic is a workplace that actively strives to use evidence-based methods in our work.

The clinic's mission is to meet patients in acute situations and to make structured assessments of patients' well-being to refer them to the appropriate level of care within the region. The assessment clinic has a treatment responsibility while the patient waits for their appointment at the relevant clinic. Patients may be offered pharmacological treatment as well as limited psychological and curative treatment.

We are now looking for a sociologist to join our work group

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will, in collaboration with other professional groups, assess, treat, and rehabilitate patients who require the competence and resources of specialist psychiatry.

Your main tasks will primarily consist of working with and developing the ReKo assignment at the clinic, as well as standard curative work.

QUALIFICATIONS

A degree in Social Work (Sociologist), experience of working in psychiatric care or other equivalent operations is meritorious. Experience with ReKo is also meritorious.

You can plan and prioritize your work and have the ability to work both independently and together with other professional categories. You thrive when workdays are varied and have the ability to work at a changing pace. We value that you have both interest and a desire to learn new things and develop together with us.

As a person, we would like you to be engaged and interested in working with operational development tasks and improvement work. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start: 2026-09-01, end: 2027-02-28.
