Region Area Västfastigheter Drift is responsible for operations, supervision, maintenance, corrective maintenance, and customer service. Our properties are complex and technically challenging. With our specialist knowledge and understanding of our customers' conditions, we help create the prerequisites for life-saving care.

To the Regional Properties Operations Area, we are now looking for an Operations Manager! The unit has operational responsibility for properties in the Greater Gothenburg area, such as the Region's buildings, the Botanical Garden buildings, the Alingsås laundry, and folk high schools. The unit is also responsible for parking signage, service, and security for external tenants, as well as having a sterilization mandate towards Närhälsan and Regionhälsan. The unit consists of 9 operations technicians and 1 operations coordinator.

The Role of Operations Manager

As an Operations Manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, budget, and work environment. In this role, you will lead operations technicians who work from and are based in various properties in the Greater Gothenburg area. You lead, develop, and distribute tasks to your employees with a focus on promoting group development and efficiency. Furthermore, you will continuously work to improve the unit's continuity work and increase the proportion of work performed in-house. As an Operations Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that regulatory requirements for the properties are met and have overall responsibility for electricity and fire safety in the properties. Here you will have the opportunity to work in a broad role with many possibilities and challenges, acting as a key player for other assignments within VGR. We have a strong focus on operational safety, leadership, and improvement, so your competence will be important for us to meet future changes and set goals.

As support in your managerial role, you have your fellow Operations Managers within the management group, HR, and finance, but you will also collaborate with project managers, property managers, tenants/customers, and contracted suppliers. Through trust-based leadership, you support, develop, and motivate your employees so that together you achieve the organization's goals and meet customer requirements.

You report to the Area Manager. The position is based at Högsbo Hospital, but since you have staff in different locations, your workplace will vary. Travel is therefore included in the role within the entire Region of Västra Götaland.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with post-secondary education in the property or technical field, or equivalent experience and education assessed as equivalent. You have several years of experience working as a manager with overall responsibility for operations, economy, personnel, and work environment, preferably from an organization with unionized employees. During your time as a manager, you have worked with some form of change management. You also have experience with technical assignments within property management. You are accustomed to working in administrative systems and preferably have experience leading employees remotely, as employees are based at different locations. Travel is included in the role, so a Class B driver's license is a requirement.

As a person, you are a stable and clear leader who creates direction, security, and well-being in the group. You stand firm even in challenging situations and communicate in a way that creates clarity and focus. You are empathetic and receptive with a good understanding of people and their driving forces, ensuring that employees are well. You show strength and drive, dare to challenge when necessary, and possess a lack of pretension that makes it safe to collaborate with you. Furthermore, you are development-oriented and thrive in an environment where improvements and changes are a natural part of everyday life.

The Recruitment Process

As part of the recruitment process, in-depth interviews and testing take place at the Region's Executive Recruitment Center in Gothenburg. The Executive Recruitment Process in the Region of Västra Götaland is based on the region's four leadership criteria; Value-based Leadership, Goal- and Result-oriented Leadership, Communicative Leadership, and Development-oriented Leadership. The tests are planned for mid-September with feedback via Teams on September 22.
