Do you want to help develop the power systems of the future and contribute to a robust and stable power grid for all of Sweden? We are now looking for a power system specialist in voltage stability who wants to work with complex and socially important issues during a time of extensive electrification and energy transition. We welcome your application to our growing team.
About the role
As a power system specialist in voltage stability, you will develop solutions regarding voltage and reactive power for the Swedish power system. The role combines analysis, method development, and strategic work with a focus on ensuring a stable and robust transmission network.
You will work on developing methods, models, working practices, and strategies to meet future challenges in voltage stability and voltage regulation. The work includes both project-specific studies and overarching analyses that contribute to the development of how the power system is planned and operated.
Responsibilities include among other things:
- conducting analyses and studies on voltage and reactive power, and developing methods and models for voltage studies
- contributing to principles for voltage regulation, reactive resources, and measures to prevent voltage instability
- participating in the work on technical requirements and guidelines for connections to the transmission network
- following technological developments and implementing new solutions for the benefit of the power system.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues within the unit and other parts of the organization, often serving as an expert resource in cross-functional issues. The role also involves cooperation with electricity network companies, power producers, authorities, and other actors in the industry.
Here, you will work on socially important issues that contribute to the development of the Swedish power system. You will have significant personal responsibility and the opportunity to influence through work at the forefront of technology.
You will belong to the Network Planning Development unit, which currently consists of approximately 13 employees distributed into two teams: Voltage and Development. You will join the Voltage team, which comprises seven employees. The unit is responsible for, among other things, Svenska Kraftnät's network development plan, the management and development of the network planning handbook, forecasting cooperation, method development, and design criteria for network planning.
