As Product Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and further developing a newly established product organization with the aim of making Mälarenergi even more customer- and business-oriented. The role offers significant opportunities to drive the development of both products and business areas, as well as the organization and working methods established around our product leadership.

Your Role

As Product Manager, you will work in a cross-functional environment where you lead and coach product and portfolio owners in their work. The product owners are located in different parts of the organization and report within the line organization, which requires coordination and clear direction. You are responsible for coordinating product-wide activities – including the formulation and implementation of product and portfolio strategies. With formal responsibility for process leadership, you drive the development of working methods and organization for effective product management. In this role, you also represent the product perspective internally and set requirements for the capabilities and deliveries needed to provide the products, services, and customer value defined by the product organization.

Your main responsibilities:

• Lead and coach product and portfolio owners
• Drive product-wide activities & forums
• Coordinate planning & follow-up of product & portfolio strategies
• Identify gaps & drive development of the product organization's prerequisites to achieve set business and result goals
• Formally responsible for the development of processes & working methods within product management

We are looking for you

Who has documented experience in driving successful product management work, preferably with a background as a product owner or in a similar role. With previous leadership experience, you feel confident in leading, engaging, and developing others. You have an academic education in industrial economics or a related field and have put your knowledge into practice through work in business-oriented environments. Swedish and English in speech and writing are required.

It is meritorious if you have experience from industrial companies and have a good understanding of technology, energy, and trade. To thrive in the role, you need to enjoy working with people and have the ability to collaborate pedagogically and communicatively across functions with a broad range of different roles and competencies. Furthermore, good computer skills as well as an understanding of digitalization and the connection between business, technology, and commerce are important success factors in the role.

The Business Development department is located within the Market and Sales business area. We are responsible for leading business and product development within the parent company Mälarenergi AB. This means we work closely with the business-driving operations to assist in the formulation & implementation of business strategy, and we lead the development and management of digital services & business-related capabilities.

In addition to your closest colleagues in the department, consisting of business developers and strategists, operational developers, system developers, UX designers, and service managers, you will work closely with product and portfolio owners as well as their stakeholders throughout the organization.
