Job Description
With us, you get:
- Modern, well-equipped working environments and endoscopy rooms.
- Opportunities for continuous competence development.
- Colleagues who work together to make a real difference.
At the endoscopy unit, we work only during daytime hours: Monday–Thursday from 07:30–16:30, Friday from 07:30–14:00.
We primarily perform outpatient endoscopic examinations but also handle emergency cases from inpatients.
The tasks include:
- You are responsible for one patient at a time.
- Preparation for examinations.
- Insertion of peripheral venous catheters.
- Medical record documentation and patient observation during the examination.
- Medication management.
- Support to the assistant and endoscopist.
You will also receive training as an assistant, where you work closest to the endoscopist and assist during the examination. Examination times vary between 30 minutes and a few hours.
The role also includes post-endoscopy recovery care and cleaning of endoscopes, approximately half a day per week. You will receive a personalized introduction and always have colleagues nearby – we work as a team and support each other. Once you are comfortable in your role, there is an opportunity to undergo training in patient-controlled sedation and administer Propofol independently. There is also an opportunity to study further to become an endoscopist during working hours (two years part-time).
Work Group
Today, we are an engaged and lovely group of around 20 employees – both nursing assistants and nurses. Many have long experience and are more than happy to help. We have a positive atmosphere where teamwork, engagement, and a good working environment are central.
About You
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with a few years of experience. Your interest in endoscopy is more important than having concrete experience in the field. Since you work in a team and in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
To thrive and fit in with us, you are:
- Collaborative, positive, and contribute to a good working environment.
- Detail-oriented, quality-conscious, and engaged in development work.
- Receptive and communicative towards colleagues, patients, and relatives.
- Flexible and confident in quickly changing focus when the situation requires it.
- Structured and good at planning and prioritizing.
It is important to you to provide good and safe care.
