We are looking for a Railway Construction Manager with a focus on earthworks and civil engineering for the project Fyra Spår Uppsala (Four Tracks Uppsala) at Trafikverket (Swedish Transport Administration).

This is a consultancy assignment based in Uppsala. The position is full-time and involves close collaboration with the client, requiring high flexibility and teamwork skills.

The Assignment

The role involves planning the production phase and acting as a construction manager within earthworks and civil engineering in road and railway projects. The Construction Manager provides technical support to the Project Manager, monitors contracting work and economic regulation, and coordinates work between the client, contractors, and designers to ensure the project is carried out according to agreements, requirements, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cost and time management when monitoring contractors.
• Participate in risk management.
• Collaborate with other projects, units, and contractors within the program.
• Participate in the creation and monitoring of control plans.
• Identify problem areas and assist with inspections, UR, ÄTA, and design.
• Monitor the contractor's execution regarding time, cost, content, as well as current requirements and regulations.
• Perform monitoring and control of the contractor's compensation documentation, bills of quantities, and ÄTA management.
• Participate in and, if necessary, lead construction, production, and technical meetings.
• Support project and production management in earthworks and civil engineering matters throughout the different stages of the contracts.
• Perform other tasks required to execute contracts according to Trafikverket's operating system.

Requirements (Mandatory)

• Excellent command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• Experience working in project groups where coordination was crucial.
• Valid B-driver's license.
• At least 3 years of work experience (as a construction manager or in a supervisory role such as production manager, site foreman, site manager, or equivalent in construction/civil engineering projects) within the relevant technical field. The work experience must not be older than 10 years.
• Knowledge of laws and ordinances as well as standards and prescriptions within the relevant area.
• You must have completed BAS-A/S-K safety training.
• Requirement of at least 5 years of work experience as a construction manager or in a supervisory role in projects within state railways where the coordination function was an essential part of the assignment.
• At least 3 years of experience as a construction manager, with at least 70% of the time spent in the client organization during the production phase in a railway project involving new production of state railways with a total project cost of at least 250 MSEK.
• Knowledge of AB04, ABT06, and ABK09.
• Knowledge of AMA, RA, and MER earthworks.
• Good knowledge of Trafikverket's regulations for railways (TDOK, TRVINFRA).

Meritorious Qualifications

• You have at least 3 years of experience as a construction manager or in a supervisory role, with at least 70% of the time spent in the client organization during the production phase in a railway project involving new production of state railways with a total project cost of at least 250 MSEK.
• You have worked on projects involving ground reinforcement in the form of KC-piles.
• You have worked on projects involving new construction, extension, or reconstruction of public water and wastewater facilities.
