Do you want to lead some of Sweden's most complex and sustainable urban development projects? Uppsala is growing rapidly, and we are looking for an experienced project manager who wants to help shape the city of the future. With us, you will lead major urban development projects such as Rosendal, Ulleråker, and the southeastern districts, while we develop trams, new train stations, and sustainable environments for housing, business, and public services. Here, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference and contribute to Uppsala's future.
At the Land and Development Division of the Urban Planning Department, you will become part of a wonderful team of colleagues working as project managers, with strategic land acquisitions, land management, and place development.
We work digitally and activity-based with our base in the municipality's new city hall, in the best commuting location right next to Uppsala Central Station. You will also have good opportunities to work part of your working hours remotely.
Description of Duties
As a project manager, you are responsible for leading urban planning projects from early stages to implementation. You drive the projects forward in close collaboration with both internal and external actors.
In the role, you will:
- Lead complex societal construction projects with multiple stakeholders
- Be responsible for the project's economy, timeline, implementation, and quality
- Represent the municipality in negotiations with developers and other external parties
- Develop strategies, decision-making materials, and agreements at a comprehensive and strategic level
- Ensure progress and anchoring within the organization and in political boards and committees.
You work in an environment where both pace and complexity are high – and where your experience makes a real difference.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have experience leading projects within urban planning and development, or alternatively, have specialized competence within the land and development area. You have an academic education in urban planning, surveying, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. Furthermore, you have experience with financial management and follow-up of projects within the societal construction sector. It is meritorious if you have experience working in the public sector.
You take initiative, start activities, and drive the work forward towards results. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and see opportunities when conditions change. You collaborate well with others, are attentive in your communication, and contribute to a good work climate by handling issues and potential conflicts in a constructive manner. You show leadership by motivating and engaging others and creating participation to achieve common goals. At the same time, you work systematically by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively and keeping timeframes.
